Arts Council England – London
12th January 2010 2 – 6pm
Our keynote speaker will be Heather Newill, Managing Director at AEM International Ltd (Arts Entertainment Media Executive) a UK-based search firm that specialises in finding, placing and developing artistic and executive leaders for the arts, entertainment and creative industries in the UK and internationally. Heather has twelve years of experience in evaluating and interviewing candidates for leadership positions in the cultural sector and will offer her insight into ways in which applicants can gain a competitive edge in an increasingly discerning employment market.
The event will also include a practical workshop on developing and presenting your competitive edge as well as opportunities to pitch ideas and network with other women making an impact in the creative and cultural sector.
The event will include opportunities for networking as well as the chance for all participants to:
Pitch, Provoke or Share … PPS!
An open mic session where you have 3 minutes to:
· Pitch an idea or project to your W2W peers. If you’re looking for potential partners or feedback this is an opportunity to utilise the network
· Provoke discussion about an issue that you, your organisation or the sector is facing and stimulate conversations within the network
· Share success stories around leadership achievements (i.e. successful projects, a new position or overcoming a challenge)
It’s your space… there will be a limited number of slots available so either let us know in advance or sign up at registration on the day.
Also see content from our previous events including CEO of the Cultural Olympiad, Ruth MacKenzie’s insight on her personal leadership journey and photos and notes from Jackee Holder’s ‘Be Your Own Best Life Coach’ session.
